The New Year is upon us and with it come many new and exciting opportunities for us to fulfill. We are excited about these new opportunities, but the New Year is not just about new things but also a time of reflection. December of 2021 will mark 30-years since Chervin Inc. was born.
My wife, Cheryl, and I started this business in a garage attached to a farmhouse we rented in Wellesley, ON. Although our vision was always to manufacture kitchen cabinets, we started by making whatever our customers wanted, as long as it was made of wood. This included anything from screen doors to furniture to kitchen cabinets.
Over the years, Chervin's commitment to creating cabinetry and furniture that is both aesthetically pleasing and reliably functional has never wavered. As we have grown our company, the Chervin family has maintained a focus on designing and handcrafting inspired interiors. We strive to always 'do to others as we would have them do to us" (Matthew 7:12), which means exercising care, integrity, and good stewardship in every aspect of our company, from what machinery we purchase to how we leave your space after an installation. It's our Golden Rule of Service, and it's what sets us apart and holds us together.
Embracing the Journey
At times people ask the question, "How does one build a company such as this?". The only answer I can give is "One doesn't". From the very beginning, I was aware that for us to be successful, the word "we" must always be in focus. Today I am proud of the extremely talented team we have that is working together while striving to keep the many gears in our company running smoothly.
As we look into the future, we will continue to focus on developing and engaging talented members of our team while ensuring we stay current with the ever-changing styles of custom millwork.
