THE ULTIMATE KIDS' BUNK ROOM SECRET HIDEAWAY, MUSKOKA

Designed for endless summer sleepovers, the Bangor Lodge kids’ bunk room is a charming, well-thought-out space that combines playfulness with functionality. Tucked away behind a hidden bookcase door, this delightful retreat accommodates four kids per room, with main-level and lower-level versions providing sleeping arrangements for up to eight children. Perfect for siblings, cousins, and friends, this bunk room ensures a cozy and fun-filled getaway.

The Details

The entrance to this secret hideaway is a showstopper—a bookcase crafted from white oak that doubles as a hidden door. With a playful mechanism that allows kids to pull a specific book to open the door, this feature adds an element of wonder and excitement. For extra fun, the lower bookcase includes a hidden passage within its cabinet doors, inviting kids to crawl through into their special space.

Inside, the custom-built bunks are thoughtfully arranged to maximize space, with four beds—two above and two below—connected by a staircase that incorporates pull-out storage drawers. The upper bunks feature breathable safety nets on the bed boards, ensuring airflow while maintaining security. Across from the bunks, custom white cabinetry offers ample storage with tall doors for hanging clothes, shelves, and central drawers for folded items or keepsakes, doubling as a practical surface for everyday use.

The Materials

The bunk beds and bookcase door are meticulously crafted from white oak, offering a warm and inviting aesthetic while providing durability and strength for years of use. The staircase drawers are seamlessly integrated, blending functionality with sleek design.

Across the room, the bright white cabinetry provides a clean, modern contrast to the natural tones of the oak, with smooth finishes that reflect light to keep the space feeling open and airy. This careful selection of materials ensures that the room is not only visually appealing but also durable and capable of withstanding the wear and tear of active summer fun.
