MODERN LIVING ROOM WITH HIDDEN SECRETS, ST. CLEMENTS

This living room renovation redefines the space with thoughtful design, seamlessly blending warmth and sophistication. With soaring cathedral ceilings and an open connection to the kitchen, this great room is both inviting and functional.

The focal point of the space is a beautifully crafted TV and fireplace surround, enhanced by custom millwork and integrated lighting. A hidden door, disguised as an 8-foot-tall wall art piece, adds an element of intrigue, leading discreetly to the master bedroom.

Project Maplewood Living Room details behind the space

The Details

The focal point of this living room is a meticulously crafted TV niche and fireplace surround, made from vertical grain rift-cut white oak. The clean, linear design enhances the room’s contemporary yet timeless aesthetic. Surrounding the feature wall, custom white millwork extends across the space, incorporating recessed niches that serve as a sophisticated gallery for artwork. Integrated lighting is thoughtfully placed to illuminate each niche, adding depth while highlighting the artwork. The TV and fireplace are framed with precision, ensuring a cohesive look that blends seamlessly with the overall architecture of the home.

Adding an element of intrigue, a hidden door is masterfully incorporated into the millwork. Disguised behind a striking, 8-foot-tall wall art panel, the door remains virtually undetectable, creating a seamless flow within the space. When opened, it reveals a private entrance to the master bedroom, enhancing both the functionality and mystery of the design.

The Materials

The vertical grain rift-cut white oak used for the TV and fireplace surround adds warmth and texture, while its natural beauty enhances the clean, modern lines of the space.
